2008

ONTARIO SUMMER GAMES

  • The 2008 Ontario Summer Games will be hosted by the city of Ottawa August 13 - 16th.  The event in a mini-Olympic event with numerous sports represented.  There are opening ceremonies, evening activities, and an athlete's village where housing and meals are provided.

 

  • Archers are selected from each of the five zones by use of scores shot at qualifying trials.  Each zones will host a minimum of 2 trials between May 1st and July 6th.  Age Divisions for eligibility are Cadet, Junior, and Intermediate (18-21 yrs). 

 

  • Each trials shall consist of a Canadian 900 round:

          Five ends of six arrows at 55m;

          Ten ends of three arrows at 45m; and

          Ten ends of three arrows at 35m.

          Scoring is 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - etc on a 122cm FITA target face.

 

  • Trials for the Northeastern zone are as follows:

          8 June - North Bay (Ecole Secondaire Publique Odyssée) Registration: 09:00  Trial: 10:00

          15 June - North Bay (Ecole Secondaire Publique Odyssée) Registration: 09:00  Trial: 10:00

          22 June - Sudbury  (École Secondaire MacDonald Cartier on Lasalle Blvd) Registration: 09:00  Trial: 10:00

          28 June - Madawaska  Registration: 09:00  Trial: 10:00
